The show is a re-interpretation of the Film The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari, an 1920 famous expressionism film. It tells the story of a crazy hypnotist who try to brain wash and murder people and finally, make different people in the town follow his command. In the restructure of the story, the play write, Jay Ball makes the connection between the Film of 1920, the theatrical philosophy of Berliner Ensemble in 1970s and the contemporary life of now a days. By connecting these very different time and space, the performance tried to remind us that brutal and violence that co-exist with the power and order of the authority is a universal and timeless risk that people should always stay vigilant of.
